Pastor’s Message
Dear Fellow Missionaries,
Many of us get upset about "misuse" of what is given. I have had several conversations recently with folks wondering who is responsible for the misuse of money given to folks who need it? What if they go and buy the number one drug of alcohol? It is interesting to think about that; especially when we expand it out to the gifts we have received from God.
In Mark 1:40-45, Jesus cures a leper and gives him spiritual instructions but he "misuses" the gift and goes and tells everyone. The spiritual dimension is lost and it becomes just a physical experience. I hope you will read through this text with me, and pray through it, as God forms a sermon in us.

Mission: Possible Event For Mother's Day Weekend
Please mark the date: SATURDAY, MAY 12, 2012. This is the date of our Mission: Possible event here at Central! In an effort to better care for our outreach and missions, we have set a goal of raising
$25,000 through this one-day event! We need crafters who are willing to make things to sell at a Bazaar that day. Our men will be providing some food, and the BIG EVENT will be an Auction for Missions. ALL money raised will go directly to the missions of our church!
We will need every single person at Central involved in this event. We will need folks to donate "big ticket" items for auction (examples: Weekend at a Condo in Florida or Chatuge; Guided Fly Fishing Trip; Panthers Tickets; be creative!!!!!)
I am asking the Ministry Team and anyone who is interested to meet with me on Sunday, January 8, at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to begin planning this event! We do believe that mission is possible through Central UMC!!
